Darma Henwa postpones construction of Dairi project

IDX-listed mining contractor PT Dharma Henwa Tbk has postponed construction works at lead zine project owned by PT Dari Prima Mineral in Dairi regency, North Sumatra province. Both firms are affiliates of IDX-listed coal mining giant PT Bumi Resources Tbk.
?There are several reasons behind the postponement. One of them is (the lack of) funds,? Wachjudi Martono, Dharma Henwa?s President Director, told Petromindo.com on Friday.
Martono said Bumi, which is supposed to provide funds for the project, has filed a petition for Suspension of Debt Payment Obligation (PKPU) with the court. The court?s hearing on the petition is in progress and any decision by the court will become a basis for consideration whether to continue the project.
Preparation for the construction has been done on time, but field action has been postponed, Wachjudi said but did not provide more details.
?We hope field action can be taken this year,? he said.
Dharma Henwa received the US$141 million contract from Dairi Prima to develop the project in April 2014.
