Indonesia-listed mining contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk said there was 127 million tons (MT) of "economic reserve" left at the Bengalon coal mine in East Kalimantan owned by its client PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC).

Darma said in statement last week that in the revised contract signed in March 2007, KPC agreed to extend the mining services contract until the ?economic reserve? of the Bengalon mine has run out.

Darma said that the Bengalon mine is expected to finish in the next 15-year.

Darma and KPC are both controlled by Indonesia-listed mining giant PT Bumi Resources Tbk.

In 2008, Darma mined 6 million tons of coal at Bengalon. In a January 2009 statement, Bumi stated Darma expected to mine 7-9 million tons of coal at Bengalon that year and was committed to increasing the volume to 12 million tons in three years. (denny)
