IDX-listed coal mining services company PT Darma Henwa Tbk has started the process of diversifying into power generation business following the acquisition in June of this year of a 99.5 percent stake in PT Rocky Investment, which is engaged in the construction of mining infrastructure such as hauling road.
This was revealed by Darma Henwa Corporate Secretary Mukson Arif Rosyidi to Kontan on Wednesday.
The paper said that Rocky Investment owns a 5 percent stake in PT Indah Alam Raya, which is 95 percent controlled by PT Alphard Resources Investment, an indirect subsidiary of IDX-listed coal firm PT Bumi Resources Tbk. Both Darma Henwa and Bumi are part of the diversified Bakrie Group.
The paper said that Indah Alam owns 99.9 percent of PT Pendopo Energi Batubara, which is seeking to participate in a tender to be held by state power firm PT PLN for the construction of a 1x600 MW coal-fired power plant in South Sumatra. ?The main point is to create synergy,? Mukson said. (*)
