Darma Henwa to boost 2008 coal production

IDX-listed coal mining contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk. said on Monday it expected to increase coal production around 40 percent to 8 million tons in this year from Bengalon project in East Kalimantan.

For the full 12 months period ended December 31, 2007, it had hauled 5.70 million tons of coal to the port with removed overburden of 48.6 bcm from Bengalon project in East Kalimantan, the company said.

The company?s net income in 2007 significantly grew by 203 percent to US$8.7 million from $2.9 million in the earlier year. The improved profitability was mainly driven by mining services and additional income from marketing and consulting services, it said. (denny)
