ASX-listed firm Dart Energy Limited is exploring the possibilities of farming out its participating interest in Sangatta-1 CBM and Bontang Bengalon CBM blocks in East Kalimantan, according to an industry source.

"Dart will then concentrate on its CBM projects in Sumatra," the source, who wishes to remain anonymous, told petromindo.com on Wednesday.

Nugrahani, Head of Exploration Division at upstream authority SKK Migas, admitted to petromindo.com to have heard of such plans.

"I've heard the rumor, but until today SKK Migas has yet to receive a formal notification about the sale of Dart's participating interest," said Nugrahani.

The Sangatta I block covers an area of 1,300 sqkm and is geologically located within the Kutei Basin in East Kalimantan province, approximately 50 km north of the Bontang LNG plant.

The Bontang Bengalon block is located in the middle part of the Kutei Basin in East Kalimantan, with a total area of 410.7 sqkm.
