1. ACCESS AND EARLY-STAGE EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES
MURALIM PSC (Sumatra, Indonesia)
On 3 December 2010, Dart Energy entered into a PSC in relation to the Muralim block (formerly known as the Kebur block) in South Sumatra. The participating interest is shared 50% Dart Energy and 50% Medco Energi, an independent Indonesian oil & gas company, with Dart Energy holding operatorship. The PSC covers an area of 983 km2 in the South Sumatra basin. During the quarter, the work program received approval from the partners and drilling is scheduled to begin in 4Q 2011. This four well program will be followed by an appraisal pilot as part of the 2012 drilling campaign.
TANJUNG AREAS (South Kalimantan, Indonesia)
During the quarter due diligence work continued on two areas with a view to securing new licenses through both direct award and farmin in the Tanjung Adaro area. Award of new PSCs is targeted for 2H 2011.
2. APPRAISAL & PILOT ACTIVITIES
SANGATTA WEST (East Kalimantan, Indonesia)
The first of four planned pilot wells at Sangatta West (SWCBM#1) was drilled in the first quarter of 2011 with dewatering commencing on 21 March 2011. First gas flows were observed from the well on 26 March 2011. During the second quarter, an additional two wells were drilled while the fourth and final well is currently being drilled and is approaching its final drilling depth. In 3Q 2011, the well completions and deployment of surface infrastructure required for long term production testing will commence, providing detailed information of the gas production capacity for the field and equipment sizing for accelerated development options.
TANJUNG ENIM PSC (Sumatra, Indonesia)
Tanjung Enim?s 2011 drilling plan includes drilling of three core wells and three pilot wells. The first well was spudded on 25 March 2011, and completed during the quarter. The second core well is expected to spud during early 3Q and is co-located on the site of the planned production pilot. The existing drilling rig in the field has the capacity to drill the pilot wells immediately following the completion of the core well allowing early assessment of the Tanjung Enim production potential and potential dialogue with customers.
3. MONETISATION ACTIVITIES
INDONESIA (Sangatta West, East Kalimantan & Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra) Commercial discussions in relation to the pilot-to-power scheme (Sangatta West) and a gas-to-power scheme (Tanjung Enim) continued during the quarter. (end of edited excerpt)
