Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Darwin Z. Saleh has formally issued letter on Thursday to appoint three new chairmen at upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS.

In a statement released by the ministry, Darwin appointed Wibowo Wirjawan, who was deputy chairman in charge of financial control, deputy chairman in charge of operations, replacing Budi Indianto who resigned a few months earlier.

Darwin?s close confidante and his special staff Akhmad Syakhroza takes Wibowo?s place as financial control deputy.

Ministry?s official Johannes Widjonarko is appointed general affairs deputy replacing AS Rizal Asir.

Darwin and BPMIGAS chairman R. Priyono were at odds over the planned appointment as the latter considered Darwin acted unilaterally to install the officials without Priyono?s recommendation as stated by regulation.

A BPMIGAS official has earlier threatened to boycott the installment ceremony if Darwin went on with his plan.

A Petromindo.Com source said that Darwin and Priyono has settled their odds in a meeting this morning and Priyono has lifted objection on the installment. (godang)
