Dayaindo to sign coal supply deal with Chinese trading firm

Indonesia-listed firm PT Dayaindo Resources International Tbk said on Monday that it would sign a contract to supply 1.5 million tons of coal to Chinese trading firm Guangdong Machinery Imp & Exp Co Ltd., a company officer said.

Corporate secretary Endang Wijaya said as quoted by Investor Daily that Dayaindo would ship 50,000 per month of coal, starting this July until the end of 2012.

Total value of the contract is US$121.5 million, he said.

Last month, the company said in a statement that it secured coal export contracts amounting to 16.13 million tons (MT) for 2010 shipments.

The company said around 5.47 MT of the export contract volume will be sourced from the company?s coal mine unit PT Risna Karya Wardhana Mandiri in Tanah Bumbu regency, South Kalimantan and other Kalimantan miners which have ties with the company under joint operation cooperation. The rest will come from third party.(*)
