Data center firm PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (IDX: DCII) has launched its E2 data center facility in Surabaya, East Java, as part of efforts to expand digital infrastructure beyond Jakarta.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Toto Sugiri said the facility has an IT capacity of 9 megawatts and is designed to support growing demand for data services in eastern Indonesia.

The company said its data center operations maintain a service level agreement (SLA) of 99.999% availability, equivalent to a maximum downtime of about five minutes per year.

DCII said the Surabaya facility was completed in less than 12 months, with more than one million work hours recorded without incidents, and involved local industry and workforce participation.

The company said the project is part of its strategy to diversify data center infrastructure geographically and reduce reliance on Jakarta, while supporting low-latency data distribution and capacity for high-density workloads such as artificial intelligence.

The company currently operates data centers in Jakarta, Cibitung, Karawang, and Surabaya.

Toto said future development will prioritize areas near industrial zones with sufficient power supply, citing energy availability as a key factor for large-scale data center expansion.
