Decisions on outsourcing tenders to be examined

KPPU chairman Mohammad Iqbal told reporters on Tuesday that KPPU would use the results of the special team?s studies for making final decisions on the outsourcing tenders.
The team would also see whether the tenders had violated existing laws and regulations, Iqbal said, adding that violators could be given administrative punishments, their contracts could be terminated, they could be fined, or they could be disallowed to continue their activities.
But, alleged violators could submit their complaints to the district court if they did not accept any decisions made by KPPU, Iqbal added.
The director of Pertamina?s production sharing management, Effendi Situmorang, said Repsol YPF-Maxus outsourcing tenders were still continuing. ?So far, Pertamina has never found irregularities, but we shall have to further study about it. We will follow whatever decisions made by KPPU,? Situmorang said after attending KPPU?s meeting with Communication Forum on Goods and Services Procurement and Pertamina on Tuesday. (godang)
