Delma Mining Corporation plans to start coal processing next year at a processing facility in the Delma industrial zone in Bulungan, East Kalimantan.
?We?ll process coal into other forms of fuel, but we could not yet share (the information) for now on what would the coal be turned into,? Delma Mining Corporation President Director Bob Kamandanu told Petromindo.com ealier this week.
Bob added that the processing facility will require about 5 million tons of coal per year. The entire coal requirement would be supplied by Delma Mining. ?Meanwhile, the technology would be provided by our partner. But we could not yet disclose who our partner is,? he said.
Elsewhere, in relation to the construction of the industrial zone, Bob said that about 260 ha of the required 1,000 ha land has been acquired. Meanwhile, the jetty and power plant designs have been completed. ?We?ll only need to discuss further about the construction with our partner,? he said, while adding that construction of the jetty facility will require investment of $15 million. Aside from coal processing, the industrial zone will also be the center of nickel processing.
