Delta Dunia?s coal output down 1.8%

IDX-listed coal mining services company PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk said that coal production in the first semester of this ending June totaled 15.7 million tons, or a slight 1.8 percent decline from about 16 million tons in the corresponding period of last year, Kontan reported on Saturday.

Coal output in June increased by 16.7 percent to 2.8 million tons from 2.4 million tons in May. ?Usually, (production) achievement in the June-September period is higher,? said Director and Corporate Secretary of the company Errinto Pardede on Friday.

Overburden removal volume in the January-June period of this year reached 133.7 million bcm, up from 129.1 million bcm in the corresponding period of last year.

Overburden removal volume in June increased to 24.9 million bcm from 24.2 million bcm in May.

This year, Delta Dunia has set a coal production target of at lest the same as last year?s 33.2 million tons, while overburden removal volume at 272.5 million bm. Revenue is targeted to reach US$500 million, lower than last year?s $565 million.

Delta through subsidiary PT Bukit MakmurMandiriUtama provides mining services for coal firms PT Adaro Indonesia, PT Berau Coal, PT Bayan Resources and PT Kideco Jaya Agung, which operate mines in Kalimantan.

Errinto said the company is seeking to grab new contract from at least two miners this year, but declined to provide further details. (*)
