Delta Dunia?s coal output up 4% in January

IDX-listed coal mining contractor PT Delta Dunia Makmur saw coal production in January of this year increased by 4 percent to 2.6 million tons compared to the same month of last year, Kontan daily reported on Wednesday.

Delta Dunia Director Errito Pardede, however, said that overburden removal shrank by 3 percent to 22.3 million bank cubic meters (bcm).

The company has said that it would reduce coal production this year by 5-7 percent from the estimated output of 34.5 million tons last year. Overburden removal was also projected to drop by 15-20 percent from the estimated 278.4-295.8 million bcm.

Delta Dunia has allocated capital expenditure of $30 million for this year, the same with last year?s (*)
