Delta Dunia sees higher coal output, overburden removal

IDX-listed coal mining contractor PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk saw overburden removal during the first eight months of this year increased by 32.7 percent to 185.5 million bank cubic meters (bcm) from 139.8 million bcm in the January-August period of last year, Kontan reported on Tuesday.

The paper quoted company Corporate Secretary Errinto Pardede as saying that coal production during the period increased by 34.2 percent to 20.4 million tons from 15.2 million tons in the corresponding period of last year.

He said that the over burden removal for this year is targeted to reach 290 million bcm, while coal production to reach 30-32 million tons.
