Demonstration against Jember mining

PT Jember Metal's presentation before the Jember administration about the company's planned mineral mining activities in Jember regency, East Java, was colored by massive demonstrations inside and outside Jember's PB Sudirman meeting hall.

People from almost all elements of the society, especially environmental activities, participated in the demonstrations. They demanded Jember regent Syamsul Hadi Siswoyo and Jember councilors to reject the company's planned mining operations arguing that it would create environmental destruction to the area. (*)
