Demonstrations halt operation at Mundu

Operation at the Mundu field in Indramayu, West Java, belonging to PT Pertamina EP has been put to a halt on Wednesday, following demonstrations by hundreds of protesters.

?The demonstration has caused a temporary halt to operation at Mundu as the protesters were involved in heated arguments with operators while they were operating the compressors, as such that the well operations were disrupted,? Communications Manager Agus Amperianto told petromindo.com.

Agus added the protesters tended to be anarchy, blocking activities.

?Several of our workers were hurt by them. At present, four workers are still in the hospital. They also threw stones at our office,? he said, without elaborating the reason behind the protest.
