DEWA targets 22.92m tons of coal delivery next year

IDX-listed mining service contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) recently stated it expects to deliver 22.92 million tons of coal in 2013, with overburden removal expected to reach 142.97 million bcm.

The company stated in its public expose material for Nov. 27, 2012 that the total coal delivery target and overburden removal target is the accumulation from their handled projects, namely in Asam Asam, Bengalon, Binungan and Sarongga.

Coal delivery target from the Asam Asam project would reach 10.68 million tons, with up to 44.04 million BCM overburden removal for next year. For Bengalon, coal delivery target reaches 9.14 million tons, with up to 82.79 million BCM of overburden removal. Its coal delivery target from Binungan is at 1.3 million tons with 14 million BCM of over burden removal. Its last project in Sarongga, it expects deliver 1.8 million tons of coal with up to 2.14 million BCM of overburden removal.

The company recorded up to 10 million tons of coal and 76 million BCM of overburden removal throughout the period of January to October 2012.

Previously, DEWA stated it has signed a mining service agreement with PT Mitrabara Adiperdana, a subsidiary of Baramulti Group, to construct the needed infrastructure and operate their mine in Malinau, East Kalimantan effective from August 28, 2012 with five year contract period and five year extension possibility.

The targeted output set by Mitrabara throughout the five year contract is between 1 to 3 million tons per annum with between 7 to 22 million BCM of per annum overburden removal.
