Dewata cancels investment plan in smelter project

PT Darma Putera Wahana Pratama (Dewata) has recently canceled its plan to invest in iron ore smelter project in West Sumatra as the iron ore mining site is located in protected forest.

?We stop the joint cooperation as our due diligence study finds that part of the mining area (of iron ore) is categorized as protected forest. We can?t develop it,? Paulus W. Broto, President Director of Dewata told Petromindo.com.

The company previously announced plan to be engaged in value added processes by investing in a smelter project for iron ores.
