Dewata to develop mini hydro power plants in Jambi, West Sumatra

Integrated energy company PT Darma Putera Wahana Pratama (Dewata), through its subsidiary PT Dewata Mega Energi, is planning to develop several mini hydro power plants in West Sumtara and Jambi provinces.
President Director of PT Darma Putera Wahana Pratama, Paulus W. Broto, told Petromindo.com recently that the power plants will have various capacities.
Paulus said that in Solok Selatan Regency, West Sumatra, the company will develop four mini hydro power plants. They include the Liki power plant (1x27 MW), Kubang Gajah (1x6.60 MW), Lampang Payau (1x10 MW), and Pulau Lebah (1x10 MW).
In addition, in Kerinci Regency, Jambi Provinc, the firm will develop the Telun Berasap (1x8 MW) power plant. ?All of the power plants will be using water stream of the local river,? Paulus said, adding that the company has obtained principal license from the the local governments.
Paulus revealed that soon the projects will be proposed to PLN. ?Informally, we have informed PLN about these projects, hopefully this year we will send the formal proposal and hopefully to have the PPA soon,? he said, adding that the investment requirement is around US$ 2.5 million for each MW.
