Tuesday, October 4 2016 - 04:35 AM WIB
The Carrington power plant is an 880 MW combined cycle located in Trafford, Greater Manchester (United Kingdom), and consists of two 440 MW units each fired by natural gas. Now that it is finished, the plant is capable of supplying enough energy to cover the needs of around a million homes.
DF Energy has invested almost 5 million man-hours in the project (including both direct and indirect jobs) and at times there were almost 1,000 people involved in the work.
The Carrington project surpasses by far the demanding standards of the Anglo-Saxon markets, which is why it was recently awarded two significant prizes:
- The "Safety and Health in Construction" prize, granted by the National Joint Council for the Engineering Construction Industry (NJC) in the United Kingdom
- The "Gas Project EHS Awards 2015" prize granted by GE (previously Alstom) for the best safety level of a project under construction in the whole world.
With this milestone DF has incorporated an emblematic project into its lengthy list of references in the Energy sector the whole world over; emblematic for its location, size and the market situation, confirming DF Energy?s leadership in the power plant engineering and construction sector. It also places the company as a benchmark for technical and commercial solvency in the delivery of turnkey projects. (ends)
