(Madrid, 13 December 2016)--Duro Felguera, through its business division DF Energy, has delivered the Chilca Plus combined cycle power plant in the province of Ca?ete, Peru. The scope of turnkey contract included the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the facility.
Located 65 kilometres south of Lima and next to the Chilca I power plant, which was also built by DF, the Chilca Plus plant has generated 110 MW since its commercial commencement (in configuration 1x1x1), which is fed into the Peruvian electricity network.
The project, which was signed with ENGIE Energ?a Per? S.A. (previously Enersur) for 87 million Euros, was built entirely by the DF Group. DF Energy was responsible for the management of the turnkey contract while DF Services, by means of its subsidiary in the country, Turbogeneradores del Per?, took charge of the civil works and assembly. After 24 months? work, over a million man hours were completed without a single serious accident.
Among the main components of the plant we could highlight the General Electric gas turbine, the Nooter recovery boiler and the Siemens steam turbine.
With this delivery the group from Asturias has further reinforced its position in the energy market in Peru, where it has already installed over 2.5 GW, thanks to such emblematic projects for the country as the Kallpa, Ventanilla and Chilca I and II plants.
Duro Felguera is currently carrying out civil and assembly works in Peru at the 301.5 MW Santo Domingo combined cycle plant, through its Services division. DF Oil & Gas is currently working on various different projects with Petroper? and Terminales de Per? to improve and enlarge various hydrocarbon storage infrastructures in the country. (ends)
