DG of geology, mineral resources signs three MoUs

The director general of geology and mineral resources Wimpie S. Tjetjep signed three memorandum of understandings (MoUs) Monday respectively with the Indonesian geologists association (IAGI), Indonesian mining) experts association (Perhapi), and the center for mining environmental studies (PKLT).

The MoU agreement with IAGI focused on cooperation to disseminate geological information in relation to the new regional autonomy era.

The agreement with Perhapi centered in studying the various mining policies.

While the agreement with PKLT focused on education, training, research, and standardization of mining environment aspect.

?The important issue focused with PKLT is on toxic waste materials, submarine tailing placement, and mining in forest conservation area, and opinion on mining moratorium,? Wimpie said.(Alex/Godang)
