IDX-listed coal mining and power plant company PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk is hoping to be able to grab one or two new coal-fired power plant projects this year, Kontan reported on Tuesday.

The paper quoted company Corporate Secretary Hermawan Tarjono as saying that the company is looking to participate in power plant tender to be held by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.

Hermawan said that the company is also open to possibility of acquiring power plant company as part of expansion strategy in the power plant business.

Dian Swastatika is currently developing three coal-fired power plant projects including the 2x150 MW Sumsel V (expected to start operation this year), 2x50 MW Kendari III and 2x100 MW Kalteng I (expected to be completed in 2019), which once all completed would require a total of 4 million tons of coal supply per year. As such, the company is also planning to expand its coal mining operations to meet growing coal demand in the future.

Hermawan said the company aims to increase revenue this year by 25-30 percent to around US$750 million. Coal will still be the main contributor of the revenue. (*)
