Dian Swastatika forms SPC to build Sumsel-5 mine-mouth power plant

Indonesia listed firm PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSS) and its wholly owned coal mining unit PT Golden Energy Mines (GEMS) has been appointed as preferred bidder by state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to build the 2x150 MW Sumsel-5 mine-mouth power plant in South Sumatra.
PLN announced that DSS and GEMS consortium as the preferred bidder to build the mine-mouth power plant on August 4 and PLN and DSS-GEMS had signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) on August 11, DSS stated in a press release.
To build the mine-mouth power plant, DSS and GEMS have formed a special purpose company (SPC) named PT DSSP Power Sumsel, of which DSS has a 95 percent stake and the remaining held by GEMS.
DSS said that DSSP Power will start the construction of the mine-mouth power plant next year and it is expected to be completed in 2015.
GEMS has several coal mines in Jambi and South Sumatra. (denny)
