Dian Swastatika signs PPA for S. Sumatra mine-mouth power plant

PT DSSP Power Sumsel, a special purpose company of Indonesia-listed firm PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSS) and its wholly owned coal mining unit PT Golden Energy Mines (GEMS) has signed power purchase agreement (PPA) today with state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to build the 2x150 MW Sumsel-5 mine-mouth power plant in South Sumatra.

DSS said in a statement on Thursday that the project will need investment worth of US$400 million. The fund will be sourced from the company?s internal funds and bank loan.

The power plant is expected to be completed within 3 years and commercial operation date (COD) in 2015.

The deal with PLN is under build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) scheme, DSS said. (romel)
