The Djajanti Group denies news reports that it is involved in illegal coal mining activities, noting that the business group has no coal mining interest in its portfolio.
Djajanti director Hadi Budiyono said in a statement: "We can state that the Djajanti Group has no coal mining business, moreover illegal coal mining in South Kalimantan."
Hadi's statement was in a response to an Antara news report that quoted the criminal director at the National Police Headquarters, Brig. Gen. Dewa KG Astika, as saying that Djajanti Group was allegedly involved in illegal coal mining activities in South Kalimantan.
Astika said that the involvement of Djajanti was evident from the finding of around 2,000 tons of illegal coal in its stockpile, along with a number of heavy equipment such as two excavators, three dump trucks, one crusher and one conveyor unit.
He noted that the coal in the stockpile was allegedly produced by illegal miners operating in the concession areas belonging to PT Arutmin Indonesia and supported by coal documents from Karya Maju village cooperate unit in Jorong, South Kalimantan. (*)
