State owned shipping company PT Djakarta Lloyd is currently in talks with state owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and state mining firm PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) about the possibility of handling the transportation of the two companies? coal.
President Director of PT Djakarta Lloyd Syahril Japarin said last week he hoped the two companies would be able to cooperate to help the state owned shipping company boost its shipping business. ?We are still discussing coal shipment contracts with PLN and Antam,? he said.
Djakarta Lloyd, which secured a contract to transport PLN?s coal last year, had negotiated with PLN to be able to handle part of coal shipment for the company?s new power plants, he said.
In addition to PLN, the state owned shipping company also negotiated to transport Antam?s coal. Antam?s subsidiary PT Indonesia Coal Resources operates a coal mine in Sarolangun mine, Jambi. (*)
