State-owned shipping company PT Djakarta Lloyd has been allocated a coal transport volume of about 1 million tons this year by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.

?This year is around 1 million tons,? said Head of Coal Division at PLN Harlen to Petromindo.com recently. He said that last year, Djakarta Lloyd was allocated a coal transport volume of 1.2 million tons, although the actual volume transported by the shipping company to the PLN power plants totaled 1.5 million tons.

Harlen told this portal earlier that PLN requires about 80 million tons of coal this year for its coal-fired power plants, of which it has consumed about 20 million tons as per the first quarter of this year.
