More than a dozen of witnesses on the multi billion rupiah corruption case in foreign joint venture coal mining firm PT Arutmin Indonesia had been questioned by the police.
"But their status was only as witness, not suspect," head of the East Kalimantan detective police unit Col. Abdurrahman was quoted by the Kaltim Post daily as saying.
Abdurrahman declined to provide details.
Arutmin reported to the police last month of an alleged Rp 4 billion corruption at the company.
The corruption was made between July 1998 till November 1999 by marking up the purchase value of several goods by the company and by manipulation of transport contract. (*)
