Dozens of coal mining workers of PT Bentala Coal Mining (BCM) held a rally on Monday at the Hulu Sungai Utara regency legislative council in South Kalimantan to demand ?better working facilities? from the company, according to the local Banjarmasin Post daily.

The paper said that the demand was first made in December last year together with demand for a holiday bonus. BCM management had agreed to fulfill the demand, but so far only the last had been materialized.

The protesters demanded the management to fulfill its promise. The paper did not explain what kind of facilities were being demanded by the workers.

Meanwhile, BCM director, identified by the paper only as Ginting, promised to fulfill the demand of the workers but said that it could only be realized gradually.

BCM is a coal mining company owned by local investors with production level of around 200,000 tons per year.(*)
