DPWP in E. Kalimantan JV talks with Noble

East Kalimantan coal mining firm PT.Darma Putera Wahana Pratama (DPWP) said it was in talks with energy trader Noble AG to jointly develop their adjacent mines at Muara Kaman, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.

President Director Paulus W. Broto told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that DPWP has 15,000 hectares of mine while Noble has 8,000 hectares.

Paulus said the talks is to set up 50:50 JV to run both mines.

He said production from DPWP?s part of the mine has started production with production target of 500,000 tonnes this year, with 400,000 tonnes already contracted to Noble.

Production from the company?s mine would be doubled the following year.

The mine produces coal with CV of 7,500 Kcal/kg (adb).(denny)
