ASX-listed Robust Resources Limited reported assay results from drilling at the Batu Hitam West project on Romang Island, Indonesia.
The company said in a statement received Thursday that of the 21 diamond drill holes completed, twenty intersected mineralisation of potential economic interest, maintaining the company?s + 90% exploration success rate.
The company further said as follows.
Many of the holes intersected wide intervals of mineralisation, including sub-intersections with higher gades, which serves to demonstrate that significant potential exists outside of the previously reported JORC resource areas. By way of example:
LWD 247: 78.6m @ 0.91 g/t AuEq1 (Au 0.36g/t, Ag 26 g/t) + 2.0% Base Metals from 13.4m, including: 8.3m @ 4.33 git AuEq (Au 0.73 glt, Ag 169 glt) + 3.9% Base Metals from 14.8m
LWD 289: 3&.2m @ 1.42 g/t AuEq (Au 0.53 g/t, Ag 42 gtt) + 2.8% Base. Metals from 1 4.lm, including: 5m c@ 4.79 glt AuEq (Au 1.23 glt, Ag 168 glt) + 3.7% Base Metals from 16.9m
LWD 97: 96.7m @ 0.86 g/t AuEq (Au 0.52 gil, Ag 16 gil) + 1.2% Base Metals from 4.5m, including: 6.5m @ 2.92 glt AuEq (Au 2.41 glt, Ag 24 glt) from 4.5m
The Robust technical team is encouraged by the fact that these three intersections ended in strong mineralisation at the bottom of, each hole, while several other holes also terminated in mineralization.
These positive results are expected to lead to an expansion of the near surface oxide and transition JORC mineral resources. The results also illustrate that the mineralised bodies remain substantially open for further discovery. Follow up drilling is currently planned to test these targets.
The continuity of mineralization between the Batu Hitam West and Batu Hitam JORC models is likely to have positive implications for simplified mining of the planned Batu Hitam open pit.
Robusts Managing Director Gary Lewis commented as follows:
These results are a indication of the Companys strategy to drill for near-surface oxide ounces positively the mine-life and production profile of ?Encouragingly, these recent results confirm the continuity between the two JORC ore bodies of Batu Hitam and Batu Hitam West, adding significant value to the project.
We are pleased to report that the Oxide Project Scoping Study is well advanced and nearing completion. and these recent results will further strengthen the resource base underpinning this study. We look forward to updating shareholders on the results of the Scoping Study in the near term.
We are also undertaking a substantial and focused drilling program for 2013, having recently commenced drilling the exciting, newly discovered, Batu Perak/Purple Heart prospect: which is also anticipated to add further value to our initial oxide gold-silver- project.
Robust is in a secure financial position and well aligned with its strategic partner, the Salim Group, which is actively supporting the company?s growth and development in Indonesia and the Philippines.
