Drilling at Jaboi geothermal project begins

Drilling program at the Jaboi geothermal wells in Sabang, Aceh Province, started on Friday marked with inauguration ceremony led by Sabang Acting Mayor Zulkifli, local news portal Goaceh.co reported.
?The Sabang-Jaboi geothermal is quite potential for development to provide meet energy demand in Sabang,? Zulkifli said at the ceremony. The report did provide further details about the drilling program and the project.
As has been previously reported by Petromindo.com, the developer of the Jaboi geothermal project is PT Sabang Geothermal Energy (SGE). In February of last year, the geothermal developer obtained forestry permit for drilling at the site where it plans to build a 80-MW geothermal power plant. (*)
