Drilling at the Jangkrik Cluster 3 (JKK-3) development well in Muara Bakau block offshore East Kalimantan, operated by Italian oil and gas firm Eni SpA, is expected to be completed in the end of March 2015, according to an industry source.
?Drilling of the JKK Cluster 3 well, the second development well in the Jangkrik field, is ongoing with pilot hole in progress,? the source told Petromindo.com.
The drilling uses the Scarabeo 7 rig, which is a fifth generation ultra deepwater semi-submersible type owned by Italian firm Saipem SpA, capable of operating in water depths of up to 5,000 feet.
Eni is the operator and 55 percent interest holder of the Muara Bakau block, while the remaining 45 percent is held by GDF Suez.
