Drilling in Sukowati field started during 2nd half

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi said that the joint operation body (JOB) of PT PHE East Java and PT Petrochina East Java (PPEJ) will conduct two drillings in Sukowati field, East Java, during the second half of this year.

The company said that the joint operation body will soon present a Plan of Development (POD) to the upstream authority SKK Migas for the development of the Sukowati field.

"In the first half of this year the JOB PPEJ had started the drilling of an exploration well (Sumber-1) since last week, and one development well (Sukowati-25), which is in the phase of finalization. For the next second half, we plan to drill two development wells. But we?re still waiting for an approval from SKK Migas for this. The average production of the JOB PPEJ is at 34,000 bopd,? PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Public Relations Manager Sugeng Haryanto told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Monday.

Sugeng pointed out that his company did not know yet the name of the new development wells as it will be determined by SKK Migas.
