Statoil of Norway and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) have completed the drilling of two exploration wells, Anoman-1 and Anoman-2, in their deepwater Karama block in the Makassar Strait.

A source at upstream authority BPMIGAS told petromindo.com that the drillings in the two wells have hit dry hole. ?Statoil and PHE are now carrying out an evaluation,? the source said.

The Karama Block is operated by Statoil with a 51 percent interest, while PHE holds the rest.

The Karama block covers 4,286 sq km of 800-2,200 meter water depth and is located at the south of the Kuma block, offshore West Sulawesi, where StatOil has a 40 percent interest.
