Drilling of Semai II block stalled

Drilling works in the first exploration well at Semai II block have encountered technical problems in the last two months.
BPMIGAS spokesman Elan Biantoro said on Wednesday the contractor, Murphy, had kept its rig idle due to the problems after the drilling reached several meters depth.
He said the chasing for the drilling was damaged as it could not withstand water pressure. The company has changed the equipment. (bernard)
