Australia-listed firm AWE limited said that the Bulu PSC Joint Venture was evaluating the drilling rigs for the drilling of an appraisal well, Lengo-2, offshore East Java in early 2013.
The company said in a quarter report on Tuesday that its well design would be similar to the previous Lengo discovery well, with both coring and drill stem testing programs planned in this appraisal program.
Previously, AWE said that evaluation of the Lengo gas discovery was an important focus for AWE and its joint venture partners in the Bulu PSC.
Drilling on the Lengo-1 was started on March 8th of 2008 and was drilled to a total depth of 987 meters. Strong gas shows were encountered in the main target reservoir section over a gross interval of 42 meters, which flowed gas at rates of up to 12.8 million cubic feet per day.
Participants in the Bulu Production Sharing Contract are AWE Limited with 42.5 percent interest; Pearl Oil (Satria) Ltd as operator with 42,5 percent; PT Satria Energindo 10.0 percent and PT Satria Wijaya Kusuma 5.0 percent.
