Drilling work at Mahato, South Lirik blocks to start next year

Texcal Incorporated, a company set up by retired employees of Caltex Pacific Indonesia, said that drilling activities are set to begin next year at the Mahato and South Lirik blocks.

Texcal teams up with Central Sumatra Energy in developing the Mahato block, and with PT Indrilco in the South Lirik Block.

?The Mahato and South Lirik blocks have good oil (reserves) potential. After signing the contract with the government, we?re ready to carry out drilling next year,? President Director of Texcal Incorporated, W. Yudiana told Petromindo.com on Monday.

He added, that his company is also interested in entering the shale gas sector. ?We?re eying (the shale gas potential) in the country including in Papua,? Yudiana said. ?We?re currently studying the shale gas potential there.?
