IDX-listed coal mining and energy company PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSS) said that the South Sumatra 5 (or also known as Sumsel 5) coal-fired power plant project is expected to be completed and start commercial operation by the end of this year.

DSS Director and Corporate Secretary Hermawan Tarjono said on Wednesday that construction of the 2x150 MW power plant project located in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra, has reached about 80 percent of the targeted works.

He said that the power plant project is expected to start providing revenue for the company starting next year, supporting revenue from coal mining, which currently accounts for about 70 percent.

DSS through subsidiary PT DSSP Power Sumsel won tender for the South Sumatra 5 mine mouth power plant project in 2011.
