IDX-listed coal mining and power company PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) aims to complete two power plant projects, namely PLTU Kendari 3 coal-fired power plant and Kalteng 1 mine mouth power plant project in 2019.

DSSA Director Hermawan Tarjono said on Tuesday to Petromindo.com that construction progress of the 2x50 MW PLTU Kendari 3 project located in Tanjung Tiram, South Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi Province, has now reached around 43 percent.

Meanwhile, progress of the 2x100 MW Kalteng 1 project located in Tumbang Kajuei, Gunung Mas, Central Kalimantan, has just reached 16.7 percent.

Hermawan said that PLTU Kendari 3 has entered the stage of construction of supporting facilities for the coal handling, construction of boiler house, and construction of foundation for the turbine.

He said that the engine and equipment for the power plant will be supplied by Jiangxi Jianglian International Engineering.

Meanwhile, the Kalteng-1 project has only reached the stage of construction of supporting infrastructure facilities.

Hermawan said that the two power plants will be operated by DSSA subsidiaries PT DSSP Power Kendari and PT SKS Listrik Kalimantan.

He added that the coal tender process for the Kendari 3 project is still in progress. ?The requirement is around 500,000 tons per year with calorific value of 4200 kcal/kg,? he said, adding that coal for the Kalteng I project will be supplied from mines operated by subsidiary PT Surya Kalimantan Sejati at a volume of around 1.1 million tons per year with CV of 3,200 kcal/kg.

Power purchase agreement for Kendari 3 was signed with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN in May 2015, under which the company will supply the electricity output to the latter for 25 years. Investment for the power plant project is estimated at US$200 million, of which $150 million comes from loan provided by China Development Bank Corporation.

Meanwhile, loan from Kalteng 1 project was provided by PT Bank Mandiri worth $250 million.
