DSSA: Sumsel-5 power plant to start operation in June

IDX-listed energy and mining firm PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (or DSSA) said it will start commercial operation of its 2x150 MW IPP coal-fired power plant in South Sumatra by the end of this semester.
According to the company?s Annual Report filed with the IDX on Tuesday, construction works at Sumsel-5 power plant have been completed and testing and commissioning are currently conducted prior to commercial operation.
The appointed contractors for the construction of this power plant are China National Electric Engineering Co. Ltd. and Harbin Power System Engineering & Research Institute Co. Ltd. Parsons Brinckerhoff Consultant was appointed as Owner?s Engineer.
The US$400 million project is located in Musi Banyuasin Regency. The output will be purchased by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN under a 25- year power purchase agreement.
Aside from Sumsel-5, DSSA is also planning to develop a 2x50 MW Kendari-3 coal-fired power plant in Southeast Sulawesi with construction expected to start this year.
