DSSA wins South Sumatra mine-mouth project

PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) has won a contract to build a mine mouth power plant in South Sumatra for state utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara with an estimated investment of $400 million, the company said late Friday.
Dian Swastika which has a number of coal mines including PT Golden Energy Mines (GEMS) will build Sumsel-5 mine mouth power plant that can generate a total of 300 MW of electricity from two plants, said Hermawan Tarjono, DSSA spokesman said in a statement.
"DSSA and PLN will then start preparing power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the project," Tarjono said, adding the company will form a special purpose company for the project.
It expects to start construction of the power plant in 2012 with commercial operation expected in 2015. (*)
