Dubai-based firm acquires Indonesian coal mine

Dubai-based ETA Star Group has acquired a 100-million tonne coal mine in Indonesia, worth US$300 million, to fuel its proposed 1,200-mega watt (mw) power plant coming up in coastal Tamil Nadu,India, Economic Times of india reported on Tuesday.
ETA Star Resources Indonesia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group, plans to start coal production from the Indonesian mine by 2010. The entire production will be for the Indian power projects, the daily quoted the company's Director Hameed Syed Salahuddin.
Initial export is planned at 2-3 million tonnes per annum.
The report did not reveal the location of the mine. (*)
