ASX-listed Western Mining Network Limited announced on Thursday that the due diligence work on CV Rahma in IUP Production No. 545/04/IUP OP/D.PE/2010 dated Feb. 10, 2010 has been completed.
The Rahma tenement is located in Kotabaru regency, South Kalimantan, approximately 40 - 50km from the northern part of Batulicin, the capital of Tanah Bumbu regency. The distance from Banjarmasin to Batulicin can be traveled by light vehicle in around 5 - 6 hours and from Batulicin to the concession in around 1 - 2 hours.
The area is free of protected forest restrictions, with all the concession area falling within the category of production forest license. The topography is low - medium sloped landform. Generally the site area is divided into two typical zones which are: 1) Heterogenic forest which is covering about 70 percent of area; and 2) Coal mine-out area about 30 percent.
Last August, the Australian firm announced it had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) whereby it has the exclusive right to explore and if warranted, mine the South Kalimantan thermal coal tenement which is 100 percent owned by Rahma
