PT Pertamina's 120,000-barrel-a-day Dumai refinery is running at 90% of capacity as of Thursday, and is expected to reach full capacity Sept. 12, said the company's director of processing, Suroso Atmomartoyo.

However, he didn't provide further details.

Pertamina's spokesman M Harun told Dow Jones Newswires the state-owned oil and gas company is reconfiguring the refinery in order to produce more aviation turbine fuel instead of kerosene, to reduce imports of the aviation fuel.

Harun wasn't immediately able to provide details of the new target for aviation turbine fuel production from the refinery.

The company shut down the refinery, located on the eastern coast of central Sumatra, in the middle of June, due to a problem with the cooling water system. It restarted the refinery July 11 at 70% capacity. (*)
