State oil and gas company PT Pertamina is operating its Dumai refinery in Riau at 60 percent of capacity because of repairs to a cooling unit.

It may take a week before the Dumai plant can operate normally, Suroso Atmomartoyo, Pertamina's director of processing, said on Friday.

Pertamina restarted the 120,000 barrels-a-day refinery on Friday after two days of unplanned shutdown, he said

"There was a problem with the cooling power" that pumps sea water to control the temperature of the equipment at the refinery, Atmomartoyo told reporters. (Godang)
