Pertamina's refinery plant in Dumai, Riau resumed its operation on Wednesday after being shut down on Tuesday due to electricity problem, Pertamina's director for processing A. Suroso said.

"The Dumai refinery plant was closed down on Tuesday due to electricity problem. But the plant has resumed its operation," Suroso said on Wednesday, adding that the operation of the Dumai refinery plant was not due to maintenance as reported by a number of the country's newspapers.

He, however, admitted that Pertamina planned to shut down the operation of the Dumai refinery plant for 20 days in the middle of July for maintenance. It will also shut down the operation of its refinery plant in Cilacap, Central Java in September for the same reason.

Indonesia has nine refinery plants with total processing capacity of 1 million barrels per day. The Dumai and Cilacap power plants have a processing capacity of 120,000 and 110,000 barrels per day, each. (godang)
