Dumai refinery starts production

State oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said it had resumed production from its 120,000 BPD Dumai refinery in Riau province after carrying out major turnaround for more than one month.

Processing Director Suroso Atmomartoyo said on Friday that Dumai refinery started production today at 60 percent of capacity.

Meanwhile, Balongan refinery in West Java was scheduled to conduct routine maintenance in August 2008, he said.

Balongan has a capacity to process 125,000 BPD of crude and produces fuels such as Pertamax Plus, Pertamina Dex inleaded gasoline and LPG.(godang)
