Dumai refinery unit operating at 50% capacity

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina said the hydrocracker unit of its Dumai refinery was having technical problems, making it operate at only 50 percent of its capacity.
“Since yesterday, production from the unit which produces diesel oil and kerosene has been down to 27,000 barrel per day,” Processing Director Suroso Atmomartoyo said on Friday.
He said Pertamina would increase output from Balikpapan refinery in East Kalimantan to offset Dumai's production reduction.
The refinery, located in Riau province, has a 120,000 b/d processing capacity. (Godang/Bernard)
